Table of PlentyThe Table of Plenty is open Thursdays from 4:30-7:00pm in the modular north of the church. The Table of Plenty is a Marion-Polk Food Share Distribution Site at Queen of Peace Church. This food share program is designed to help qualifying families shop for their own needs once a month. It is estimated that we will serve at least 80 families in South Salem with the number likely to grow.Oregon has the highest number of people in the US who are food insecure - not knowing where their next meal is coming from. According to Marion-Polk Food Share statistics, Last year over 24,000 Salem/Keizer residents sought help with food - over 45 percent were children. 40 percent of the need is right here in South Salem. Of the ten emergency food outlets in Salem/Keizer, The Table of Plenty is the only one located south of Mission Street.Queen of Peace parishioners staff the Table of Plenty during operation hours, in addition to picking up and delivering food from Marion-Polk Food Share and other sites. Food donations are also collected not only from Queen of Peace parishioners, but also from our neighboring churches and other organizations. It has truly been a community effort to provide needed food for our neighbors. You can bring food donations to any Mass on the weekend. Watch the bulletin for urgent needs. Your donations help support our very own neighbors!Contact the
